Raintree Aero Flight
School - Primary and Advanced Flight Training.
With the exception of a driver’s license in lieu
of a physical for Sport Pilot, requirements for obtaining any pilot’s
certificate include an FAA medical exam, ground school to pass a written
test, and FAA mandated minimum flight hours.
Raintree Aero offers an integrated program of flight
and ground lessons based on an FAA approved syllabus, promoting understanding
as well as achieving the skills of operating an airplane. Ground school,
which accompanies specific flight lessons may be one-on-one with the
instructor, in a formal class setting, or as a home study course. Regular
flight stage checks and the building block concept assure that no step
in learning is omitted. Scheduling of lessons is on an individual basis
tailored to the student’s and the instructor’s availability
and schedules. Students may schedule using the on-line ScheduleBook
service.
Training at an airport without a control tower can save
money by avoiding traffic delays and being closer to the practice area
which maximizes flight time and thus reduces cost. Therefore, the price
of individual lessons should not be the only determining factor in choosing
a flight school or obtaining a pilot’s license. Overall, the cost
of flight training compares favorably with other types of recreational
and educational pursuits. Raintree Aero has excellent instructors who
are motivated to teach, are enthusiastic about flying and want to share
that passion with others.
Sport Pilot Training Now Available
An Ercoupe (with rudder pedals) is now based at 58 M
and is available for rental and Sport Pilot training. This is an opportunity
to train for fun flying. Schedule now and be ready to enjoy your solo
experience in the spring. Sport Pilot certification requires only 20
hours of flight training and does not require an FAA medical certificate.
The Sport Pilot needs only a valid driver’s license as proof of
medical fitness for flight. Sport Pilots may fly an airplane of less
than 1320 pounds, carry one passenger, and mainly fly in nice daytime
weather. However, there is no distance limitation, so the pilot can
just enjoy flight near home base or use the airplane for recreational,
business or personal flying. To schedule training time: 410-398-0234;
or CFI Dan McCaffrey at 410-978-8374.
